Hello Gaitlinburg!

We arrived in our spot in Sevierville/Pigeon Forge, TN. The campsite was a very nice, newer campsite hidden behind the busy road, literally with the Titanic attraction in its background! It is on a very narrow, leaving no room for error swirly road. Doable, but if you didn’t read the directions that were emailed, you definitely could have gotten yourself in a pickle! We thankfully were aware of the narrow roads and knew as we were going through it, we weren’t far from our destination. The road to this location as we got off the interstate was a road of advertisements. All we heard the last 15 minutes of driving to the site was screams and yelps of excitement as we passed a water park, mini golf courses, go karts, arcades, alligator buildings, upside down buildings- yes, I wrote correctly, upside down, wacky looking buildings. Buildings with King Kong on the side, large bear building decor, shark mouth entries, dino’s- you name it, we most likely saw it! The kids already had a list of the “To Do’s' they wanted to make happen!

Once we unloaded, looked around our site, had some lunch, we took the drive to Gatlinburg- which created even more stimulation! About 15 minutes away. we drove through the green forest for a few miles, before it opened into the town of Gatlinburg! Oh the sight to see! As we entered into town, people everywhere, attractions on both sides of the streets and views that were surreal!

We found a spot for parking, walked the main town strip, and made a stop at the infamous Skywalk bridge to view all of Gatlinburg and the Smokies! We took the gondola up the mountain that then led you to the trails and bridge! We went up pretty late into the evening, where we were able to view the sunset and walk the trails in solar lit lighting. As we walked the bridge, the middle of the bridge, the floor abrutly became see through. Raylee was a little uncertain and wasn’t initially wanting to cross over, until she realized we all had done it! Oh to be 3 again and just not know or understand. It has been fun to experience all this as an adult, but to also witness young ones experiencing things for the first time as well. The joys of parenthood!
